Why Use Green Energy? What Does That Even Mean?

Have you heard of going green? Who hasn't, right? Going green (or green energy/green power) is about using power sources that don't pollute the environment and are environmentally friendly. The best part of using green energy is that it can also save you money. The two most common sources of green energy are wind and solar energy. They are also the most easily used as a source of alternative power for our homes.

There are many ways to use solar and wind energy in your home. The most commonly used form of solar energy is solar panels, which can be mounted on the roof on your home or in an open area in your yard. You can also make a passive solar heater to help supplement heating your home in the winter. The most essential part of using solar energy is that you need to have an area that receives a lot of sunlight during the day so your solar system will generate energy.

The best way to harness wind power is by building a windmill and placing it in an open area around your home or even on your roof if it's small enough. Wind generators are simple devices that can be used by anyone. A bonus of using a renewable source of energy, as opposed to coal or oil, to generate your own electricity is that once you have your system in place their are virtually no maintenance costs.

The best part of using these two simple methods of alternative energies is that you can easily find information on the Internet on how to build them yourself for less than $250 instead of buying an expensive commercially made one. Just make you find a decent guide that will show you the building process and it should be easy.
